Call of Duty®: Black Ops – Cold War „FIREBASE Z“ Easter Egg Guide

THE MAP

OUTPOST 25

VILLAGE

Turning on the power and unlocking Pack-A-Punch in Black Ops Cold War’s Firebase Z is pretty straightforward. Like Die Maschine, the game will share several prompts detailing where you need to go to complete both of these critical tasks in Firebase Z.

  • Go towards the marker on your screen called “Ravenov.” Speak with Ravenov before heading towards the teleporter on the rooftop. You will notice that a depowered Pack-A-Punch machine is stationed by Ravenov’s sealed room.
  • Head up to the rooftop (where the teleporter marker is located) and press the interact button on the portal. You will then be taken to Outpost 25.
  • Once you enter the base, you will be greeted by Omega Group’s Doctor Peck. The Doctor instructs you to power up three Aether Reactors around the base in exchange for Samantha Maxis (the reactors are located in Mission Control, Data Center, and Military Command).
  • Head to each of these locations on your map and interact with each reactor. After turning on a reactor, it will need to charge and you will need to protect it from zombies.
    • There should be a bar on the left side of your HUD telling you how much the reactor has charged and how much damage the reactor has taken. To charge up the reactor, simply kill zombies around it.
    • Once the charge bar fills up, a discharge will surge throughout the room and give power to that area. It will also kill any remaining zombies in that location. Keep this process up until you turn on all three reactors.
  • So, you’ve turned on all three Aether Reactors and restored power to the entire map. You should be prompted to return to Ravenov. Once you get close enough to Ravenov, the Pack-A-Punch machine will turn on and you can now spend all of your hard-earned points on upgrading your weapon.

GUIDE BY MRDALEKJD

There are three ways to acquire the R.A.I. K-84 wonder weapon in Black Ops Cold War’s Firebase Z. You may get lucky and find the weapon in the Mystery Box or at the Trials. But if you want the weapon for free, you can build it yourself. Here is how you’ll build the weapon.

The first part you need is the blueprint for the wonder weapon. That can be found in the Weapons Lab near the computer with a red screen on it. To do this, head on over to the Scorched Defense section of the map (located by the Mission Control area). The scientist’s dead body will be found sitting on the side of a tank.

After picking up the blueprint, interact with the computer with the red screen. You’ll then be instructed to find a dead body of a Russian scientist so you can… take out his eye and get access to the computer.

Interact with the body and take the eye back to the computer. From there, you should be rewarded with a key.

Go to both of the Barracks and open up the lockers in between each set of bunks. This will spawn a Mimic, which will drop the part you need when you kill it. If the part doesn’t drop, just keep opening the remaining lockers in the Barracks until another Mimic spawns.

Run back to the Weapons Lab and interact with the computer. By interacting with the computer, you’ll start a sequence that highlights parts of a circle. It’s important to note that the sequence changes every match. Remember the sequence and go back to the spawn area by Ravenov.

In the room next to Pack-A-Punch, you’ll notice a dartboard. Shoot the sequence you saw on the computer into the dartboard and then shoot the bullseye.

If done correctly, the part will drop out of the dartboard.

Next, you’ll need to wait until Round 15 or later so a Mangler can spawn. Kill the Mangler and pick up the Magazine he drops. If a Mangler doesn’t drop it, don’t worry. Just wait until another Mangler spawns and that one should have the Magazine on him.

You’re almost done. Take the Magazine to the Weapons Lab and place it on the charger. The charger is located on the table with a missile. It should take about one full round to charge.

Retrieve the fully charged Magazine and craft the R.A.I. K-84 wonder weapon in the Weapons Lab.

The R.A.I. K-84 has two different firing modes (full-auto and launcher). You can also upgrade the weapon at the Pack-A-Punch.

After you turned on all three Aether Reactors and speak to Doctor Peck in the Mission Control room.

Head back to the spawn area and speak with Ravenov. He’ll give you a keycard for three lockers.

Go to three lockers on the map. They can be found in the following locations.

  • Equipment Storage (The room between the spawn area and the teleporter)
  • Tech tunnel (under the planning room)
  • In the Colonel’s office (near Juggernog)

In each of these cabinets is a vial with some of the serum in it. Interact with the vials to pick them up.

Go to the field hospital next to the data center. Put the serums into the machine on one of the tables. After that, hellhounds will appear. Kill them all and take the serum from the machine.

Run all the way over to Mission Control. Head upstairs (above Peck’s office) and turn to the left. You should find an AC unit. Interact with the AC unit to place the machine down.

At this point, the truth serum will start to flood Doctor Peck’s office. A dialogue will begin and wait for Peck to tell you the truth.

Make your way over to the second floor of the Data Center (near Speed Cola) and interact with the memory machine. This will give you the essence trapper.

  • The essence trapper is a piece of tactical equipment that will act much like a C4 (double-tap the reload button to activate).
  • It will absorb zombies and Mimics into it but will only capture them if their health is below about 25%.

Capture three Mimics at three certain points of the map.

The loot for the mimic does not have to be epic tier, it simply needs to be from one of the 3 spawn locations.

  1. Spawn upstairs above PAP
  2. Near Sky bridge
  3. By Colonels office

The mimic can be captured anywhere, but must be from one of those spawns.

Go back to the memory machine and take the floppy disk.

Use the floppy disk on the machine in the Planning Office. This will eventually reveal the Dark Aether anomaly.

Talk with Peck and then Ravenov about getting the code for the Aethermeter locker.

Obtain the Aetherium crystals that are buried around the map. The three locations can be found below.

Head to the left Bunker in Scorched Defense, where you will find a shovel resting against one of the windows. You will now need to dig up the crystals around the map. The Aethermetre will start beeping when you are near a dig site, but the crystals are always in the same location. If you fail the mini-challenge to collect the crystals, progress to the next round and you can try again.

The first Crystal can be located in the Open Lot, next to the window under the stairs. When you dig up the crystal, it will appear then disappear. Multiple Crystal Canisters will now have spawn in the Open Lot and Engineering. You will need to go round looking closely at each Canister, trying to find the one with White Smoke as apposed to Black Smoke. Interact with this one and you will collect the Crystal.

The second Crystal can be found out in Jungle Defense towards where the Portals Spawn during an invasion. When you dig it up, and dome will appear around it. You will need to survive within the dome for a few minutes, killing Hell-Hounds, zombies and potentially Elites. If you leave the dome, you’ll start taking gradual damage. After surviving the attacks, the dome will disappear and you can collect the crystal.

The third Crystal can be found to the left of the stairs into Data Centre by the door to the Field Hospital. When the Canister spawns, it will teleport away when you get to close to it. It will teleport between its dig site, Barracks 1, Barracks 2 and Field Hospital. To prevent it from teleporting, you will need to use the secondary fire of the RAI-K84, the AoE will slow down the Canister, giving you time to collect it.

You will now need to take these Crystals to the Aether Generators. One for each. Interact with the Generators in Data Centre, Military Command and Mission control like you previously did to insert the crystals.

This will ‘stabilize’ the Portal in OPC, until you realize you’ve been bamboozled by Peck.

You will now need to re-position the Satellite Dish, using the computer opposite the Armor Bench in Planning Office. There will be a mini puzzle where you need to align a dot with another dot. To the right of the screen will be a few flags that appear when the movable dot is aligned with the secondary dots. You will want to keep lining up the dots until the flag on the screen is displayed as a question mark.

Once aligned, the actual Satellite Dish atop Data Centre will move.

You will then need to Return to the OPC, where you can interact with the Console on the right side of the room.

This will initiate a cut-scene, so be sure to be prepared for a fight before pressing it. Now’s the last chance you’ll get to grab perks, pack your guns or craft equipment.

Once activated, you’ll be taken to a cutscene. Shortly after a boss-fight will commence.

To Defeat Orda, stay away from close range to avoid it’s Mace attack, and shoot it from a distance. Occasionally it will fire a beam from its big eye, that will start glowing, shoot it here for critical damage. All while this is happening, zombies and elites will be spawning.

As soon as the Orda reaches zero health, another cut-scene will commence.

Congratulation, you’ve now completed the Easter Egg!
